The firefighters of Lake Oswego Fire Department Organized within the International Association of Firefighters on February 10th 1971. Starting with 17 original members, the Labor side has grown to 43 strong, with improvements in pay and schedule increasing drastically in the last decade. After playing contract catch-up to other comparable departments in Oregon, we now set the standard.

Recent transition to a Kelly Day schedule has allowed the implementation of Kelly Relief positions on July 1st. Because of this, there has been two recent promotions, with the likelihood of more on the way due to attrition. The vacancies created at the Firefighter level due to these promotions will be filled by the recent new hires in the department.
